AND invited award winning artists from across the world to join in a celebration of the ‘artistic border-crosser’, artists who traverse roles as diverse as the alchemist, ethnographer, engineer and inventor. It was because of this, we changed the usual festival format to create a live laboratory featuring the making of projects and prototypes and inviting audiences to test and contribute to their evolution, like an industrial fable, you were asked to imagine a paradoxical future.
The hidden activity and geography of real-time peer-to-peer file sharing via BitTorrent is revealed in The Pirate Cinema, an online project by Nicolas Maigret.
This live work produces an arbitrary mash-up of the BitTorrent files being exchanged in real time, based on the traffic of the Pirate Bay’s top100 videos.

Sat 5th Oct 2013As part of AND 2013, FACT present the work of internationally recognized artist and pioneer of documentary film and video practice, Mark Boulos.
The exhibition, Boulos’ most ambitious to date, will feature a new, large-scale video installation combining innovative camerawork with the research of Professor Olaf Blanke, Director of the Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience, Lausanne.
