The Immortal \ Revital Cohen (2011)
Interlinking a number of life support machines together to create a gasping, seemingly self-sustaining organism, The Immortal was a new, experimental project which questioned definitions of life and artificiality. Highly relevant in an age when power over life and death is often at the flick of a switch, AND hosted the word premier of The Immortal.
Revital Cohen and Tuur Van Balen’s work is occupied with broad meanings of material and production. They work with objects, installation, film and photography to explore manufacturing processes as cultural, ethical and political practices.
