Organic Cinema / World Wilder Lab
What if we could see and hear what plants and microorganisms ‘talk about’? By using latest sensory technologies, Organic Cinema explores how local flora and fauna react to their immediate environment and, through visuals generated from real time data of their reactions, gives them a voice.
Organic Cinema heralds the development of an open source, affordable device which will allow to measure plants action potential – small electrical signals which are fired in leaves and stems as a result to environmental stimuli. Developed with Backyard Brains, and Leiden University professor Bert van Dujin and his students, World Wilder Lab hopes to hack into the ‘chit chat’ between living entities and their environment.
