Welcoming Luke Moody as AND’s Creative Director & new 2021 Festival Team
Wed 17 Feb 2021We’re very pleased to announce that Luke W Moody (LONO Studio and previously Sheffield Doc/Fest) has joined the team as AND’s Creative Director. Luke will play an important role in leading the organisation alongside Catherine Waddington (Executive Director), whilst Director Ruth McCullough is on maternity leave.
“I am excited to be passing the baton to Luke to lead AND’s Creative programmes in 2021, including the long awaited 9th edition of AND Festival! Luke brings a diverse range of experience in non-fiction and experimental film, festivals and cross-artform productions, and a progressive critical voice at a pivotal point for our organisation.” Ruth McCullough
Luke will lead on delivering the biennial festival, which returns later this year (more information and dates coming soon), and crucially will also influence the shape of AND’s future plans and programme beyond 2021.
“Joining the Abandon Normal Devices team is like entering a spiritual home, it’s a pleasure to work with a festival that places experimentation, civic interaction and change at its core of cultural production. I’m excited to begin working with the exceptional team, artists and partners this year to further abandon normality and celebrate radical artforms.” Luke W Moody
Luke W Moody is a creative producer and curator most recently working with artists to develop new moving image work through his company LONO Studio. From 2017-2019 he was Director of Film Programming at the world-leading non-fiction film festival Sheffield Doc/Fest, curating the 200 title film programme (both short and long-form documentaries) and producing live events. Previously he was Head of Film at Doc Society, co-commissioning long-form documentary cinema across six international film funds from development to completion. He also co-founded and curated new cinema festival FRAMES of REPRESENTATION at ICA, London and online curation platform Something Real.
As we bid a momentary farewell to Ruth, we’re also excited to welcome Producer Tricia Coleman back to the AND Festival team for 2021, alongside new staff Tadeo Lopez-Sendon as Online Producer and Sinéad Nunes as Communications & Partnerships Manager.
AND Festival 2021 dates and programme to be announced soon. If you’re new to AND, follow us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, or sign up to our newsletter to discover what’s happening this year.
