Ototo / Dentaku
Ototo is an experimental PCB-based synthesiser from design and invention studio Dentaku (Yuri Suzuki and Mark McKeague).
Ototo allows you to combine sensors, inputs and touchpads and easily create your own electronic musical instrument. You can make a drum kit out of out of some saucepans or an origami that sings when touched. Anyone can unpack a kit and interact with sound however they want to, no soldering or coding required.
Dentaku showed the early prototype of the Ototo board (pictured) and ran a series of micro-invention workshops based on the platform.
Originally commissioned and produced by Near Now (nearnow.org.uk).
