Impossible Perspectives Catalyst Labs 2023
From 5- 7 July 2023, our selected Impossible Perspectives artists participated in the first of two Catalyst Labs at Somerset House in London.
They met with industry experts including Creative Technologist Ben Neal from Psicon Lab, to develop the ideas they worked on together at Tatton Park in 2022.
In September, they met again in the North West over 3 days, basing themselves at FACT in Liverpool where they continued to build on their proposal. They returned to Tatton Park to meet with curatorial & grounds staff to develop their research of the site.
In late 2023 and in early 2024, a testing phase is due to take place at Tatton Park. In this phase for members of the public may be able to get involved with the project by trying out the technology, and giving vital feedback to the project.
If second stage funding is granted, two large-scale, immersive artworks will be included in an innovative celebration of Canaletto in 2025, complementing an exhibition of Canaletto’s works in the Mansion House.
Impossible Perspectives is an artist development programme with Tatton Park. Commissioned and produced by Abandon Normal Devices and Cheshire East Council as part of SHIFT. Supported by Art Fund and public funds from Arts Council England, with additional support from the Italian Cultural Institute in London.
