Piercing Brightness: Exhibition \ Various Artists (2011)
Conceptual cousin to the film of the same name, Piercing Brightness was an exhibition of new work at the Harris Museum and Art Gallery. Premiering prior to an international tour, the exhibition featured Trailer, an experimental cut of the Piercing Brightness film, together with new textile and neon sculptural works. It also featured New Dream Machine Project, 2011 a film based on the ‘dream machine’ invented by legendary port, painter and performance artist Brion Gysin.
Piercing Brightness was commissioned by In Certain PlacesĀ a public art programme including a film by the same name, run jointly by the Harris Museum and Art Gallery and the University of Central Lancashire with additional support from Abandon Normal Devices.
