Steve Maher

Visual and Relational Artist, Steve Maher’s work investigates the relationship between collaboration and dialogue. He works with music – it’s rituals and cultural artefacts – as materials to create projects in collaboration with communities.  Focusing on the dynamics between dominant ideologies and subjugation, music and the communities which orientate themselves around it, a key motivation in his practice is music’s versatility; capable of being both a catalyst for emancipation and a tool for manipulation.
